what is the oil pressure supposed to be at idle on z6 engine ...i just installed and oil gauge and its idles at 25 psi is that good or bad

 

isnt that a bit high? at idle (750rpm) ive seen most engines at about 15psi..maybe your talking about the startup high idle ?

 

well after a while it goes down to about 20 psi so iguess its a little high...someone told me i had a bad tps sensor ..can effect the oil pressure

Oil pressure is directly proportional to RPM with bearing clearances factoring in for a set amount of loss or gain.

 

mine on my sohc vtec and b16 have both been around 20-25 psi at idle., i wouldnt worry about it. some people say 10 psi for every 1000 rpm is good so at 1000 rpm 10 psi is good i guess, and 2500 psi 25 is good, i dunno. but you should be ok.
