Default EK Suspension into EG...How can I make this work?

Hey Guys,

Sorry if this sounds like a newbie question or situation, but I need your help and if you guys are just going to flame me or got nothing nice to say then I suggest just keep the thread clean please. Sorry if I sound like an ***, but just want to get that out of the way. Well, heres my situation I am thinking to buy my friend's suspension from his EK (KYB shocks w/lowering springs) and I am gonna put this into my EG. I know the fronts wont be a problem, but the rears are. How can I make this work?

I got 2 options: a.) Shim my LCA's to make the rear shocks fit.
b.) Or I could get EK LCA's @ the wrecker to make it work
Is this a direct bolt on? Or Do I need to do anything to make
this work? Like any modifications on the EK LCA?

Anymore suggestions you guys can make to make this work I would gladly appreciate it. Thanks a lot guys, gladly appreciate it.

TIA
BJorn.

the EG/DC rear shock fork is wider than an EK so you would only use the shims if your friend wanted to use your suspension, for you to use your friends suspension you would either have to press out the bushing and replace with a bushing from and EK, or take an angle grinder and grind a little bit of the metal sleeve that surrounds the bushing till it fits. you can't use EK lca's from a wrecker because they are different in length than your EG, and your camber and track width would be messed up.

thanks for the reply man...how hard is to grind the metal sleeve of the bushing? but also, instead of doing this ...i can just also replace the bushing with an EK bushing right? probably a bit less work?

depends on how easy it is to remove both of the LCA's and take it somewhere for them to press out the old bushing and press in a new one.

No, aftermarket will still be the same as far as fitment. It's easier to swap from EG to EK. But from EK to EG i think you will be SOL, **** outta luck

yes, in other part of the world, they don't have the thicker bushing the Integra and EG uses. They all uses the thinner bushing the EK uses.

I'm not sure if omni and others specify thicker bushing when they manufacture theirs.

But I know for sure that Wicked Tuning and SRR uses thinner bushing and provide you with spacers.
check Wicked Tuning at http://www.wickedtuning.com
So, yes, it will work.

EK rear lcas are longer. That means that you will gain a lot of camber as the outer attachment points are farther out from the center of the car. That is, it puts the wheel at an increased angle aka negative camber.

So, would the EG D2 c/overs bolt straight in to EK? What kind of mods / things do I have to purchase.

The EKs have thicker rear lca bushings, so an 'EG' shock won't fit over an EK rear lca, unless you cut out about 1/4" from each side of the bushing. Fronts will be fine.

This is worth it if you get a bomb deal on a good suspension system.

But the 96-00 lca are longer. Unless Wicked lca are adjustable.

If you are going from EG/DC --> EK all you have to do is use washers in the back for the lcas. The EK lcas are thinner than the Eg/DC therefore washers will work.

If you're going from EK-->EG/DC than you must purchase EG/DC lca from wicked tunning b/c they are thinner therefore will accept the EK shock.

The first one i know works for sure.

The second one, I'm just going by what Andrie Hartanto said.

Let's get this straight

just want to confirm, if i order their EG LCA's i wont have to shim down my old lca's? and it will be a direct bolt on for the rear EK shocks? are these aftermarket or also stock but with thinner bushings? can you pls confirm this, cause i will order them if it will work. . thanks a lot.

ek shock smaller on the rear. , like he said . you have to grind 1/4 on each side to make EK shock fit to eg LCA. and EK LCA are longer then the EG .
