Default Exhaust Backpressure, How Much Do I Need?

I have a 92 hatch d16 sohc non vtec, it has a header, high flow cat, and full Magnaflow exhaust, right now I would guess that it has very little backpressure. Someone told me that Honda's need alot of backpressure, if I were to downgrade my exhaust, say I were to put a stock cat, or if I were to put a stock muffler on it would I see any HP gain? I have decent acceleration, but my top end seems to be lacking power.

You'll see more power if you put ALL your stock equipment back on.

I almost forgot to ask, are there any tests I can run, or have done to it, to optimize my backpressure, for the my best HP numbers?

backpressure will help you off the line. On the top end you should actually see an INCREASE in power.
