Default Question for finding donor car?

Do you think a flipped 94LS can still have a good engine in it?

My friend has a 94LS auto with 75k original miles, hes selling the car whole w/ engine for under 1000$ the front suspension is destroyed (the wheels are perpendicular to the direction of the car) he says the car starts but he has not left the engine on for longer than 5minutes after he had flipped it.

The bumper is bent but not too bad and the hood looks fine aside from the scratched paint. the windshield is cracked at the top and the roof doesn't appear to have any frame damage. the paint on the driverside rear qtr panel is scratched, but looks to be straight. interior doesnt have backseats, airbags were deployed.

Anyways, do you think these parts are worth 1000$? I thought the oem engine with that kind of milage for 12 years would be worth 1000$ already

Depends if all the oil leaked out when he flipped it (and if cranking it damaged it thereafter). The LS swaps arent worth as much, but its still worth $1k.

pics of dmg added, everything else is just cosmetic
hmm so is there any chance that the engine might have been damaged when it flipped?

Doesnt look as if there could've been any engine damage, the hood isnt even banged up that badly.

oh you're going to need alot more parts than that to fix this car. try to find yourself a car thats pretty much in one piece because fixing this is going to cost as much a good condition teg.

You'd be better of buying a stripped shell and swapping over everything from this car from the interior and drivetrain than trying to fix it because you never will. The engine should be fine, if he landed on his wheels. If the engine ran a long time while upside down or on its side it probably got starved of oil. The fact that it's an auto wouldn't make it worth $1000 for me since you could probably find a manual swap for the same price (if not maybe 1 or 2 hundred less). But then again, there's also the interior and other pieces that might be good that you have to consider into the price.

Same thing happened to me, check about 1/3- or 1/2-way down page 4 of this thread for pictures: https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=4 I rolled my Integra, landed on the wheels, and shut the engine off a couple minutes later (because the ignition was still busted from the auction that I bought it from, so the key wasn't in it, and I didn't know where it had flown to and couldn't find anything to stick into the ignition and turn it off with ). Everything basically from the interior and the drivetrain were fine and I bought a stripped shell from auction and swapped everything.

I wouldnt bother with anything that has that kind of damage, unless you are really into body work or you dont mind rollin in a dumpmobile.

I would venture to guess that by the time you finish getting it roadworthy, you could have just bought something that wasnt rolled and ran just fine or at least danm near it.

i was saying its worth 1k i thought because of its milage. 75k original engine for a 12 year old car.. thats like 6k per year? so yeah... im pretty sure it did land on the wheels, but ill make sure b4 i buy.

to teggysue- it might be a week or 2 b4 i buy it, so if ur willing to wait sure. i'll make a thread later in marketplace or something with pre-orders (OMG LIKE THE PS3 AND WII) for partouts.

Im also thinking about selling it whole / rebuilding it from junkyard since it is still CLEAN TITLE, it wasnt reported cuz the kid's insurance would have increased like mad for flipping his car lol. Clean title 94LS with under 100k miles.... i woulda thought this to be a bubble'd integra.

the roof and complete front end is smashed. that's way too much work and $ for such an old car. parting it out would be more profitable.

That's what I was thinking, about $800-$1000 for a manual LS swap. Nobody wants an auto Integra tranny.

frame damage, dont waste your time with it, unless you are a professional bdy man with acress to a frame machine its really notr worth your time IMO. from those pics the car looks pretty much unfixable for a low cost. it would take thousands to get that right again and it still wont be like it was brand new

I dont think he's buying it to fix it up, rather buying it and trying to profit from selling parts.
