Default do the full race t3/67 HO utilize T31 back housings?

hi guys, did a search didnt find anything regarding the HO turbo and T31 backhousings.

i recently purchased one of these brand new for my turbo M3 and some guys over on bimmerforums are asking if this turbo uses a T31 backhousing and saying if it does its going to choke up top. (no one has tried this turbo yet with turbo M3 ill be the first on that forum)

i tried Searching google but cant really find anything as in pix of what a T31 housing looks like.

any thoughts? thanx for any help

also why would a motor/turbo combo choke with a T31 backhousing?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't teh T31 the standard 5 bolt turbine housing with 2.5" outlet? Coems in sizes of .63/.86/1.06 usually

If it's an E36 i'm sure you'll be fine..they only rev to 6500ish correct?..either a .63 or .82 A/R housing will work fine..You can make a lot of power and have great top end on a t31 wheel/housing, probably more than the the Mitsubishi 20g that a lot of bimmer guys use.

i have been trying ot read up on the T31 exhaust housing but cant seem to understand why ONE person would say its restrictive and would choke up top? i cant seem to find anything else online that would substantiate that comment.

i mean arent all T3/T4 2.5 inch 4 bolt turbos using the T31 back housing? except for the GT35R whch has the GT 3 inch 4 bolt discharge.

is it the 2.5 inch 4 bolt part that people mean when they say its restrictive? compared to GT35R which has the 3 inch 4 bolt?

this would mean that all 4bolt SC61, 60-1, 62-1, T3/67 turbos all use the T31 backhousing and the only T3/T4 turbo that does not use the T31 back housing and stil has 4 bolt is the GT35R which has the GT 3inch discharge which is nothign more than a funnel outward to 3 inch from 2.5 off the housing.

actually my motor is built to rev to 7200 rpms, would this be more cause to choke up top?

i mean i see hondas making over 700 hp on this turbo and they turn over 8500 rpms with no issues.
