Default How do you put a Tach in a 92 CX Hatch?

has anyone ever wired up a tach into there 5g CX Hatch? Did you use an external tach like from autometer. Or use a whole different cluster from a close car? is it just plug and play if i did a 92-95 Si/EX cluster. would I have to run any wiring? Thanks

direct swap, 100% plug and play if you use ex/si. You can eve swap your speedo into the ex/si cluster to keep accurate mileage.

All the dash wiring is prewired for a tach between any trim model. Like Eyal said, an EX/Si cluster is plug and play, and you can swap the speedometer/odometer portion to retain correct mileage.

Open hood of car and look by the Clutch fluid reservoir. Theres a plastic wire connector block (mollex I think) You need to run the RPM signal wire from the Tach through the firewall and splice it to the blue wire on the connector block. Look for little round rubber grommet on firewall to run it through. The black- wire goes to any metal ground surface, and the red+ wire I wedged into one of my fuses under the dash. I had to try different fuses to find the right power source but it was pretty easy. And for the white wire that lights tach up I spliced it up to the red wire on my headlight dimmer toggle. I know I know this is ghetto electronics but hey it worked and my tach is beutifull with no problems. GOOD LUCK
