I need some help! i need to drop and drain the gas tank...
hi everyone im a newb here... need some advice.
I have 01 prelude, took it in for a valve job under warranty.. now they are trying to say that they found diesel in my tank, also on a spark plug, and it may of been the reason it bent the valve .. i know for a fact this is not true...I've never in my life of driving mistaken to put diesel in my tank, this is BS I smell a rat. Basically they are just trying to get some money out of me. Now I need to drop and drain the gas tank, replace the fuel filter and flush the fuel lines myself before taking it into another honda dealership for the valve job. I just need a basic idea of anyones experience or knowledge about this. what i may run into while doing this or what product I can use to also clean the system out. anything will help and greatly appriciated. Thanks..

If you didn't run diesel through the system, then there is no reason two separate dealers would think there was diesel in there
So, if you didn't actually put any diesel in there, that would be a waste of time.
But, if you are lying to cover your stupidity, then just use compressed air to blow out the hard lines, and replace the soft lines and fuel filter

Wow! Thanks for your advice but like I said i didn't put it in the tank! some one did faul play and since this is the case i need to be sure it's out of the system. How would I prove that they did this really? So at this point I can only do what is needed to get it out and be sure it's clean.
uhh...I guess you could take samples of what is in the tank and the fuel filter and send them to a lab to be tested....
Just clean it according to what I said above, and then run some STP fuel system cleaner through in the next tank of gas....
