Default 95 prelude shifter cables in 97+ Lude

I'm planning to swap my prelude from auto to manual. I was just wondering if I could buy the shift cables and shifter out of the 4th gen and use them in a 5th gen. Pretty much there is a guy selling all 4th gen stuff tranny, half shaft, shifter and cables. Anybody know what will work or do I have to buy all 5th gen parts. Thank you.

(I did read the write up on the auto to manual swap on mazmo but this wasn't really mentioned)

Thanks for any input

as far as I am concerned, nobody has documented trying this yet.....but since they mount the same to the transmission, and they appear to be the same at the shifter too....i don't see why they wouldn't work

I don't think they would be too short in overall length, but who knows....

Working with cables not linkage seems to me that it would work but I would just like to know for sure before I go wasting money. Thanks for the input though.

I was wondering the same thing, but could never find an answer, then I was also thinking about the 98-02 Accords as well since they use cables

I don't have them I was gonna buy them off of Ebay thats the problem. Can I use the tranny out of any of them though like accord manual or h22 tranny and just use the manual tranny mount?? Cuz the F-series seem to be cheaper and I'm not looking to make a fast car here I have my civic for that.
