Default Realistic Expectations From My Wip

Before you all fly off the handle.....

I have searched, and talked to people. Im asking for the exp opinion from other
I would like to hit 13.9 or better. Do you think its possible with the right conditions/Driving Skill on this setup.... i looked at other peoples setups and it seems to be 50/50......

Setup - 92 Si /H22a swapped in + H23 Trans + USDM P13
Ripped out the Interior/AC Compressor/AC Condensor/AC Lines/ABS/
CF Hood + Trunk (comming soon) + CF Sunroof Plug (Comming Soon)
ACT Stage 3 + 8lb Fly
K&N Flostack Intake
DC Header for now (Swap didnt have a header)
AEM Pullies
AEM Rail (Swap didnt come with one)
B&M FPR (swap didnt come with one)
Greddy Evo2 Exhaust
MSD Wires
Denso Irridum Plugs
Blaster SS
Lightweight Aluminum Radiator
VAFC - ***Tuned*** (replacing with Crome soon)

(other non important stuff like G.E Camseals, Aluminum oil pan, manual tensioner, stuff like that.......)

So, with great track conditions, Good driving skill, and Drag Radials, in your expert opinions.... do you think its possible to hit 13.9.......

I look to get the RMF header in the winter + crome and possibley some crower cams.

Just wondering......

You're WHAT?

You can hit 13.9's with less bolt on's. It's been done plenty of time.

You can do with less than that, but add one thing...Good driving.

With those weight reductions and drag radials that sounds more than easy to accomplish. If you havent already purchased that aem rail I would put my money towards something better like a new ecu with crome or a better header or shortshifter or something. The oem rail is more than good enough for your application

no, these are all things i currently have...... unless it said comming soon..... i know the AEM rail is sort of a waste, like the DC header, but the H22a i got didnt have them....

You have the setup for it, granted it's running in good shape.

The other critical part of the equation is driving. You need to cut 2.1-2.2 60 ft times and shift perfectly to run 13's. Like I said, it's been done with less so I don't see why you can't either.

4th gens are faster drag cars than a 5th gen. dunno why, the weights really arent all that different but i've seen quite a few 4th gens run 13's with just bolt ons, good tires, and driving skillZZZZ

Oh god yes you can do 13's with that setup. Like homeboy just said tho H23 tranny will hurt you and might keep you outta vtec on some of your shifts. LSD that woulda came with the H22A would've been nice too.

no, we tuned the VAFC to keep me in Vtec.... the H23 trans was dropping me out from 1st to 2nd by just a bit..... set engagment a bit lower, now we are all good...... and 2nd gear pulls like a **** all they way to next week.....

Update from this sunday..... something like 55-60 deg outside

r/t .62
60' 2.13
13.88 @ 103 mph

I used 22'' slicks that i borrowed from my buddy who was training me this weekend..... after all sat working on shifting/launches..... this was my 2nd pass and the best of the day.....

Dialed Vtec down to 4900, i dont remembe the psi of the tires, something like 16 psi i think..... i also ripped out the passenger seat and got the CF trunk installed on friday night...... I think i may just have the best VAFC tune ever.....

sweet. With slicks tho, you should be able to get a better 60ft.

nice time tho. I'm impressed you got that time with the h23 tranny.

i was too... yeah, i have never used slicks before and i know i can do better.....

i think that all the weight reduction countered the drawbacks of the h23 tranny, and really brought out its advantages.... my 2nd to 3rd shift was great and i cant wait to go back after i tune with crome....... my VAFC goal was midrange power which i got a lot of, and i should be able to get more with crome......

im out of things to rip out of the car however..... i want to get lighter after i saw a gutted CRX almost lift its rears off the ground......

this makes me wonder what makes the 4th gen's ability at the drag strip so much better than the 5th gen. I mean the weights really arent that different although the shape of the body is a good bit different. Maybe the 4th gen is more aerodynamic and doesnt have as much air resistance/turbulence. But then again you are completely stripped

interesting.....

it has to be the aerodynamics.......

compare the 60' times and the 1/8 times between 4th and 5th gens......

the 5th gens seem to give up once they get going over 75 mph........ the 4th gens keep going..... i was supprised at how fast it kept picking up power, again thanks to all the stuff i ripped out.... i was cold driving today in chiago however as i have yet to put the HVAC back in........ lol

Friggin sweet! Drop that 60ft to sub 1.9's and you'll be low-mid 13's easy.

i think it may have been due to the slicks that i was using..... they were old and not his good ones...... this was more of a rush than i thought it would be... my teeth still hurt from grinding them......

i have done track days b4, but this is a different rush....
