Default ac blew up in my face

okay, so i'm doing a swap, and i press the ac relief valve. nothing, just a small hiss, I press another one, and nothing. so I'm thinking its uncharged, went to unbolt the lines and it blows in my face. nice huh? I spill my drink, run in the shower and take a cold shower. What is the chemical called thats inside the ac?

LOL! same exact thing happened to me when I was helping pull my swap out of the donor. I thought it was discharged. It's not FREON, it's R-134a, non toxic, non-carcinogenic. You should be fine.

Does anyone know the proper technique for draining/catching the old R134a? I'll need to do it to my EG when the swap goes in.

It happens all the time, no way to discharge it without a evac system. **** smells like mildew.

Take the cap off, point your face in the other direction, and slowly press the valve thing with a screwdriver until it all comes out. x]
