Default 1999 civic cluster gauge bulb replacement?

I have a 1999 civic stick, my bulb I guess just died on me last night. Does anybody know how to replace the darn thing? Its the bulb that lights up the gauges.

It's vary easy, just unscrew the cluster and undo the harness, and the gauges will come right out. I got my bulb from autozone for like $3, good luck.

I geuss I dont understand you, when you disconnect the harness( If I remenber right there are 2) there should be nothing connected to the cluster, the back of the gauges are a big circuit board and the lights plug right into it. if im right there are only three bulbs that light the cluster( back lit) any other are at the top shinning down( externely lit) aside from gas, batt, brake ect.

There are 3 plugs all together. I disconnected all 3. I see that there are 2 coming down. But there are quite a few in the back. I guess I am talking about the light that you can adjust. The dimmer light.

Well I tried changing the the 2 bulbs (PEPboys bulbs) that are sitting on top of the cluster but still no luck. I dont know which bulb but its the bulb that you can dim dark to bright for the gauges. Any help?

I believe that bulb holsters are different colors for the dimmer or illumination aposed to the indicator lights. look through the hole and if you see a indicator symbol thats not it.

The brown ones are illumination.

If you have one with a tachometer, you'll have 1 large one (194 bulb), and 5 small ones (24 bulb).

If you have one without a tach, you'll have 2 large ones (194 bulb), and 3 small ones (24 bulb).

Also, the overhead illumination is 2 tiny ones (74 bulb).

You can get all of these in various colors at http://www.autolumination.com

Make sure you get glass.

=======

Another thing to think about, is if they all went off at the same time, it could be a blown fuse or a faulty dimmer switch.

You are correct eran. I have a tach and I do have 1 large and 5 small with overhead tiny bulbs. The first thing I checked was the fuse, then the bulbs. The fuse was not blown, the bulbs didnt look like they were fried. I believe it might be a defective dimmer switch as well. I will go check on that.
