Default Timing marks on aftermarket flywheel

Jdm h23a (blue-top Vtec)

not sure what flywheel but was told its clutchmasters. anyways it's blue and it has 2 marks kinda like indents. Neither one lines up on the pointer when I'm at TDC. I verified this by sticking a large punch into #1 and rotating the crank until it came up and the cams were lined up.

Car runs pretty crappy when driving....wants to stall out after I get off the accelerator. Have to keep it running with pedal pretty much even at idle. I thought it was my ignition timing at first but it show the mark out exactly as it is when setting cam timing. Honestly now that I think about it I don't recall seeing 2 marks the first time. Which one do I use.

The weird thing is that i set the cam timing the way that i just checked it cam gears aligned, Piston visually at TDC and crank lined up. How the hell is it going to be off the mark and at TDC inbetween both marks now. Any help is greatly appreciated. Girl is getting mad because she thinks im gonna die riding my bike in the rain and the car has been sitting forever.

Umm your flywheel is your transmission and should have nothing to do with your ignition timing or cam timing.

Don't be a tard...the flywheel is how you set the cam timing.

The flywheel timing marks are very hard to get lined up right...you can try to get the piston at TDC visually and the flywheel marks will still be way off. It's like .005 degrees of crank rotation moves the flywheel marks an inch (exageration bit still ). Just turn the crank a tiny tiny bit at a time until you see the marks.

The first mark is 0 degrees and the second is 15 degrees if I remember right.

Does the Stock flywheel have 2 marks also or just one and then the number printed on it for the timing gun.....either way which one is 0? while seeing both marks is it towards the front of the engine bay or the firewall. im assuming the front one is 0/TDC.?? but on that mark the piston isn't at TDC.

Stock also has the 2 marks. The mark for zero is the one closest to the front of the car...it's a big white plus sign on the stock wheel and the second one is orange.

I actually had to put my own marks on my flywheel because the XTD lightwheight flywheel doesnt have them. I turned the motor to TDC then used whitout to mark it on the flywheel straight down from the sight line up. Then I dialed the gun in and set my timing, worked great but I may have to remark it if I adjust the timing after a year or so.

Well, I'm bringin it back from the dead again. I never really got it right and I went to go work on it tonight after setting the timing on another h22 (w/stock flywheel) and his runs great so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. With everything lined up on the T-belt side the flywheel is in between both marks. Any ideas on what to do?? I guess I'll take the belt of again and try and bring it around a few times to see if the marks line up ??
