Default crx wanting to go type-r ....

i have a 1990 crx with a d16 lump in it and the gearbox has **** the bed so im looking at giving it a whole new setup with lump, box etc etc in one go. i have been offered a type r lump, box, loom, ecu, shafts etc etc pretty much everything i can think of to do the conversion but have a little niggle on my mind about the box.
the engine offered is the type r 2ltr lump out of a 2000 civic. now correct me if i go wrong but doesnt this model have the gearstick in the dash? im assuming it does and that i will be able to use my existing shifter, and selector rods to connect to the box. modifications to the rods may be inevitable but its feasable right?
has anyone on here done this conversion and if so any pics would be much appreciated.
any info welcome.....
cheers. lloyd

I didn't even make it all the way thru...is a "lump" a motor??

EDIT: made it to the end...I guess a "lump" and "box" would be the motor and tranny.

A 00' Civic at the most has a B16 stock unless it is an authentic CTR coupe or it has already been swapped. Also, the shifter in a 00' is still in the floor, not the dash.

I'm guessing these are the terms used in England? What does it mean to have a niggle on your mind?

I also assume that when the said that the shifter(gearstick) is in the dash that he ment that it was on the floor since he said that he would be able to leave it in the same spot.

I'm not trying to say that anything thing that anyone has said is worng. I'm just trying to clear a couple things up.

he wants to know if the shifter in a 2000 ctr is in the dash like an ep(ithink? the newer Si hatches) or if its on the floor like every other normal car in existence. If its in the dash he wants to know if he can modify his car to run it or not.

if the type r you are looking at getting is really from a 00 CTR then it would be a b16b... 1.6ltr not the 2.0ltr you referred to. And 00's were still ek's so it would have a floor shift not up in the dash... That started with the ep/dc5 era

Lump = Motor?
Box = Transmission?
...

Assuming the Civic's year is incorrect...

Translation?
"My CRX's transmission broke and I'm thinking about dropping in a K20A Type-R motor. I've been offered everything needed to do the swap but I'm confused about the shifter."

K-Series motors don't use solid shift linkage they use cable linkage and you can use a DC5 box to put your shifter in the normal position.

P.S. I hate you for making me try to understand what you wrote...
