Making a Custom Box: What Materials are Needed?
Well I am making a custom box for some subs that I have and I was wondering what type of wood and insulation should I use to make it? I have never made a box before so I have no idea how I should go about doing this. Any help that you can give would be greatly appriciative.
Thanks

depending on what subs and the wattage anywhere from 1/2 to 1" mdf(medium density fiberboard. you're going to want good length screws, some silicone for sealing around the edges. if you need padding thats up to you. get enough would to make the box including any bracing plus some extra.
also make sure you have a drill to predrill for the screws and a bit for the screws themselves. ive done it by hand before, never again. make sure you do your measurements for the internal dimensions that you want, and that the box will physically fit both inside the trunk and through the opening.

Use 3/4" MDF or larger
Liquid nails (silicone sealant) is good for the seams of the box
I prefer drywall screws (1 1/4" or something like that)
Quadruple check your measurements before cutting
Pre-drill all holes. MDF is notorious for splitting.0
I have a nice link, let me see if I can find it.
Edit: Here you go, nice how-to.
