Default d16a6 Head on d15b2 block Who's done it??(need feed back...)

Just like I said.Got head thats been completely gone through off an Si D16A6.Want badly to put on my D15B2. I work at Napa and have reviewed this with over and over again. The only worry I have is that because the tooth count on the timming belt for my motor and the timming belt for the Si have a different tooth count(the Si being more teeth)is that I may not be able to put his thing in time or it will unmeaningfully advance and smash valves and pistons.....

So basically:
-Who has done this with out these worries and what was the end result?
does it run o.k.?
-Was there any "TECHNICAL" problems when doing this swap?

BTW...The D15B2 that is on there is the original that has been milled down .028"
The D16A6 head was milled down .025".

I've done it. You are correct with your suspicion too with the different tooth count. The only timing belt that I could get to work with the combination and still be able to get the correct amount of tension was the DX belt. The only problem is that I can never get it to time correctly even when I push the dizzy to full advance(or retard, I can't remember). It's as if the timing is off by half tooth, however it runs fine for me. The problem could probably be cured with a cam gear and/or modifying the dizzy to be able to spin more.

Everything I was told and read before I did it was there was a half a tooth difference. I bought an adjustable cam gear , Now the cars runs great and is in time

If you use the DX timing Belt and put the DX cam gear on the a6 cam I don't see why the timing would be any different than if it were the b2 head but you will still have the better cam profiling of the a6 cam.

And I don't know if there is a difference in flow design or valvetrain strength, if not though then why not just swap in the cam and it would be the same as a a6 head... again, that is if the valvetrain, flow design is the same, I don't know. I kind of wouldn't mind knowing myself.

Has anyone else tried this? I'm thinking about trying that now.....I wonder why the si timing belt wouldn't fit when I had the a6 cam gear with it but the dx belt does....

castings are the same, the main difference is the Camshaft and gear.

dude how much power did you pick up from the swap

butt-dyno is ok haha

but wouldnt it seem that if you HAVE a DX, you can just keep your belt and the old B2's cam gear and put that on your *new* ****
