Default 90 civic dx tranny question

i have a 90 civic dx that i just got and the only problem is that car does not move. you can put it in gear without pushing down on the clutch even while it is running. im not sure but i think it is the release bearing that messed up. i was going to get a clutch kit and replace it. any suggestions? thanks.

Have you messed with anything clutch related lately? It could be as simple as your clutch cable being too tight and it's always disengaged. Try adjusting your cable and see if it helps.

OK. Then check the cable and see if it's intact, if so try adjusting it. If that doesn't work it's probably the release bearing. Good luck .

Sounds like a trashed clutch disc to me. If the rear main seal leaks oil onto the clutch disc, the braking surface breaks down and can shatter. When you pull the tranny off the engine, the clutch disc will be all the black powder that tumbles out.

Exedy makes a stock replacement clutch kit for under $100.

Yes, this is also worst case scenario. I was hoping it wouldn't get that bad.

BTW, love the avatar, takes me back to 2nd grade .
