removing air conditioning....
does anyone know how to remove the air conditioning unit on a 94' civic, i heard its pressureized but i dont know for sure...... any specifics or pictures would be awesome!!!!
it is pressurized so loosen the bolt that is running from the a metal hose to the a/c condensor which next to the radiator and step back and watch the fun

134A has an ozone depletion potential of ZERO.

Yeah and it won't kill our ozone. 134A or not... don't spill that stuff into the air. Most places will e-vac that stuff for you for a nominal fee.

If you get caught just venting it into the air you'll be paying over 10,000 in fines. Just take it to a shop, mabey make get a deal for leting them keep the refrigerant or some thing. After that its just removing parts.
take it somewhere and tell them to vac it, if they want to charge you then go home and pull the hose. It's r134, not r12, so it won't harm the environment like r12 used to, just be careful.
It is actually just as bad, they though it is not back in 1994, but it was rpoven otherwise. Have it properly dispose, and because shops reuse it, they probably won't charge anything, or very little money.

Show me this proof. The chemical makeup of 134A makes it have a ZERO ozone depletion potential. 134A contains ZERO chlorine (the chemical that eats away the ozone layer).

It does not deplet the ozone, but it does lead to global warming. According to your chlorine argument, CO2 should not contribute to global warming, but it is a major contributor to greenhouse gasses. See http://arch.rivm.nl/env/int/ip...2.pdf

Quote from above:
CO2 has been suggested as an alternative to R134a in air-conditioning systems because the global warming potential of R134a is 1300 times that of CO2. This was particularly important for automotive air-conditioning because of the relatively high leakage rates in such systems.

id just let it go into the air whats a little gas when there are millions of cars in the us giving off gasses evey day .. cuz i live in sc and they dont inspect anything here
