Default Brake Problem...

Going down the highway yesterday I smelled burning brake. The pedal got stiff. I pulled over and smoke was rolling from the front right. Today I got a new caliper and put it on, bled the brakes and when both wheels were off the ground The right would not budge. (Im in nuetral) The left would turn slightly side to side (LSD). Now what could the problem be? Im going to get a new proportioning valve and see what that does.

Edit- Forgot to add, this is in a CRX Si with rear discs.

I dont think the rotor is warped. The caliper was used but fairly new.

it sounds like you have a stuck caliper. take it off and see if you can easilly press the piston back in, and if the slides are greased.

if that checks out, then you need to figure out why there is pressure on that caliper when your foot is off the pedal.

if the caliper seems fine, i'd compress it, install it and make sure that it is spinning freely. then apply the brakes. see if it is still holding when you let off the brakes. if it is, crack the bleeder open- you'll be able to see if it is still under pressure that way.

What should I use to compress it? How much pressure does it normally take? I compressed a stucked pistom before with a block of wood and a C-clamp.
