in canada the SI is a Sir... SI is a sohc

it will fit but the b16a3 is obd1.. so different distirbutor plug, alternator plug, injectors and a few sensors.. which can all be used from the b16a2 if thats what you have already

So will I get the check engine light if I swap the b16a3 in a 99 civic ?

By the way I am still looking for a civic I don't have the car yet. Do you guys think I should get a 96 dx ? then get the b16a3 ?

Yeah you'll get the check engine light accmpanied by at least two codes - CKF sensor, secondary oxygen sensor - unless you modify some things.

First of all answer this for us Americans who are not sure what your Canadian car has:

Does your car have a SOHC, or DOHC engine right now?

I am looking to buy a civic I don't have it yet but the SI's here have SOHC...

I think I am going to start looking at 96-98 civics now (coupe) you guys think its a good idea instead of getting the 99-00 civic ? I really like the front oem bumper on those thats why I want it lol..

PS: I do have a car (93 del sol) I want to buy a civic coupe now.

No.

The entire front end is different from 96-98 and 99-00 - do a search, or coick the sticky "FAQ" topic and find the topics covering the front end conversion.
