hey all, i have an 01 accord ex. i turned the key and all i got was a screeching type noise. i turned again and she started up fine. i was thinkign maybe the starter? what else could it be and what can i do about to check it out. thanks all!!!!

 

Are you sure you don't have that backwards? Maybe the car was already running and then you turned the key again?
Oh well, if not, probably just a weird rare situation where the starter gear didn't mesh with the flywheel teeth right away. If it doesn't happen again you should be fine.
Stock car? I hear people with Jun flywheels have starting problems.

 

your bettery is slowly going. my car does it too, cause i used the accord Alt pulley, it under drives badly, and eats the battery.

 

One of my past cars would make a noise when I tried to turn the engine over, then it would start after that, come to find out, one of the starter bolts had worked its way loose and fell out causing the starter to move enough to just miss the flywheel teeth or even just barely hit them! Ouch.
