Default Integra Starting Issue

I have a 94 Integra and wont start. When i try to start it, it sounds like when the car is running and you turn the key again. I think its the starter, but if you think i got other problems, i am open to any suggestions. Thanks

are you talking about the grinding noise? is it coming from the starter itself? if that's actually what it is, it could be the teeth on the starter or flywheel. have you tried push starting the car?
usually problems where the motor doesn't turn over seem to be related to bad batteries or power/ground connections...

yeah i tried to push start it. The battery works, because all my other things work, ie radio accessories and what not. The noise is that grinding noise you spoke of, thats the noise it makes when you try to turn it over.

tried to push start? so did it start or not? if not, the problem is not your starter.

side note - accessories working (radio, lights, etc.) is not a good indication of the health of the battery or connections in regards to starting. voltage may be fine and you'll have enough current to run these, but the starter needs 100x more current delivered than the radio...

i pushed it and it wouldnt start. You think its not the starter and think its the battery. Even though that it makes the scratching noice when i turn the key. You dont think that i would be timing or anything like that? Thank you for your input
