Fuel Sending Unit -removal help
Hello,
Great info on this forum.
Have a 1989 DX Hatchback d15b2 w/ 210k
I need to change the fuel sending unit.
The fuel gauge reads empty connected normaly and it will read full if I ground one of the two wires.
But have no idea how to remove it from the tank.
Does it unscrew?
If so, how?
There are two sets of tabs that I can see on the tank after I remove the cover.
Thanks for your input
Thank you.

YES it's bad, I tested the gauge and its good.
I was testing the fuel pump and jumped the wrong wires.
12v to the sending unit for just a second killed it...
I will try to revove it after my coffee this morning.
Thanks everyone for helping this Honda NOOB

You can usually use a hammer and a dull chisel to
gently tap the retaining ring loose/off..
Be patient and work from side to side or it will try to wedge..
Also a good idea to hit the top of the tank with compressed air
to get all the dirt out of the area so it doesn't end up in the tank..
