s-40 trans ????

does anybody know what a S-40 tarns is out of? i have never heard of this trans b4. does anyone know what it came out of?

D16Y8, 96-00 Civic EX trans

It might have also come on the ZC motor or something like that, but its a d-series transmission.....which is also why its so cheap.

S-40 is all 96-00 SOHC Civic 5spd Transmissions. They will have a stamped code on them on the clutch housing to the right of the starter that will ID the model. The VIN# will also identify what vehicle the transmission came out of as well if it is still attached.
