Im building a b20vtec. I just got a transmission and the person told me it was a b16 trans. But on the SN it says a EJ7. I know its for a 96-00 ex civic. But that wouldnt work with my build would it? I have found things online that says a ej7 b16 swap. Thats what is confusing me.

Would a ej7 transmission work with my set up??

 

Ej7 is a chassis code (96-00 civic HX) it is not a trans code...

Post a pic of the trans and serial number...that would help id'ing it

Thats the SN to the transmission. I can see it ok. But in the pictures you cant tell some of the SN. So i wrote it down and put it on here. I think i got the whole number right. Thanks

 

Never a trans having a serial number like that...seems more like a vehicle vin# despite missing a number at the beginning of it. A trans serial number should look more like this...

It has a little metal tag that is bolted to the transmision. That is what i wrote down, the transmission is spray painted. I dont see anything like that. Ugh. Im getting pissed.
