Honestly, the Bose setup in the RSX-S isn't exactly lightweight. You could replace with an aftermarket setup and have something that is just as light and sounds better.

My thoughts exactly. The flip outs look extra bulky and usualy block heater controls etc.

thats a pretty nice setup where do you get that? i haven't really searched around for audio yet, but not being able to play all my MP3/WMA cds BLOWS i have only seen the one that deletes everything and allows the screen to black the heaters. might be nice to know for future reference.

yeah it's look decent instead of just ahving all that space there and then the screen blocking the heater controls

the thing with car stereo's is that the only way to get the best possible sound is to sit directly in the middle of your car, which isnt exactly easy to do. Also, travelling at say 80 mph will alter which speakers you hear before the others, which isnt exactly good for a great sound. There is also road noise, wind noise, creaks from the car, and etc.

I honestly haven't heard a great sounding car system. ive listened to many many setups from diamond audio to JL audio. many car speakers have a problem with sibilance for some odd reason. People turn up their car stereos to try to mask road noise and the sibilance just becomes more profound.

Because of this, i dont think its worth spending money on a car stereo system unless you want a woofer in your car to attract attention whether it be positive or negative. The only reason i would get another head unit would be because i'd like one that played cd with mp3 files on them or dvd's.
