Clutch making a clicking grinding noise.
I started to hear it after I broke in my clutch. It sounds like a random clicking noise coming from the tranny housing. First I started to hear it when i'm idling, now i hear it when I push the clutch down. I think its the flywheel hitting something. It drives like normal but I'm afraid that it will get worse. And i changed the throwout bearing when the clutch was installed. I spoke to two people and they said it was either:
A. Broken main bearing on the tranny
B. A rock, bolt, or piece of metal stuck inside the tranny housing
Can anybody please give me some advice as how to resolve this problem..

Well, you can just pull off the clutch access cover and see if anything is sitting in the bottom of the bell housing. If not, turn the motor with a breaker bar and see if you can hear any parts making contact (this seems unlikely. As the parts wore away, the noise would get softer, not louder). If not, it's probably something that only makes a noise when motor is spinning. Could be a main bearing, could be a bent finger on the pressure plate, could be a spring beginning to fail on the clutch plate. Sadly, you'll only know when you pull it apart and look.
i'm getting my b16a tranny rebuilt right now and hopefully the problem is in the old tranny and not part of the engine/flywheel. I guess i have to spend a day doing this job.

This sounds very similar to what happened to my car. One of the springs or something from the clutch broke, got stuck in housing area and eventually completely fried all clutch movement. If this is what is happening to you it WILL get worse and WILL eventually keep you from shifting. ( I know its not the most technical explanation but I do know it sucked

I have an ACT 6 puck and it has no springs, so that cant be it. I have a strong feeling its the teeth on the pressure plate. One or more may have broken off and maybe hitting the flywheel. Does anybody know if they warranty this product.
thanks for all the replies.
