so im moving about 70 miles away from my job. How far do you guys commute for work? This is only for 6 months. Im worried about the wear on my car, also its gonna be winter soon, Yucky! am I alone in this style of commuting?

 

I commute around 30 roundtrip miles twice a week, it was 4 days a week for about two months (going through a winding canyon that makes my stock 95 ex bog ) and I average about 100 miles for the entire rest of the week but nothing like that.

 

i had to take a 2.5 hour trip one way, every day monday-friday until i was like expletive this, and found a local job.

 

What is supose to be a 30 min ride into Boston is now a 1 1/2 hour ride. I hate traffic with a manual! But, I hate automatics more

 

pliskin679 how long did you do this for? what about you shortlid? im really worried because its winter, and my car has around 170k miles on it.

when you guys were driving these long *** commutes, were you experiencing more problems with your cars?

i do about 50 miles a day.

 

35 miles one way.

Each week I like to see if I can find the perfect groove, to get the best gas mileage. So far, this last fill up I hit 373 miles. Probably my best record so far.

I would say the biggest hit you will notice will be less $$ in your pocket due to gas, then oil changes, and next on the list tires.

I would say I am about 7 miles from work. It sucks. No traffic, and if I go a certain way, I hit two lights.

Going 70 miles a day sucks, but it won't really be that bad for only six months. On an almost bi-weekly basis I drive 100 miles each way to visit my girlfriend at school. Car runs fine 140k on chassis/about 90k on motor.

to school... about 40-45km each way... 4-5 times a week

 

umm like 50 miles so 100miles total..yeah i need to find a local job but hey i enjoy the drive

 

I go 23 miles one way, so 46 round trip, but once you're used to it, doesn't seem as long

 

60 miles round trip here. But thats why I got an HX.

 

10 miles from where i live to where I work. My DX gets like a 2 weeks worth of gas if I use it strictly for that.

 

I drive about 26 miles each way boosted @ 12 psi pissing off as many of the BMW's, Mercedes, Jaguars, and 350Z/G35's I can along the way. I'm sure there are more cars to name, but I'm at work. Luckily most of the trip is highway miles.

 

45 miles each way. That is why I got the VX. Really not all the bad once you get used to it. I have been doing it for almost 10 years.

 

i drive 150 3 times a week to go to school for work...and 10 miles round trip when I don't go to school....next semester ill go thru a tank of gas a month...im going school locally

i am 40 miles round trip, but the wife has a 100+ round trip on our 99 si. we bought it new, and it has 196,000 miles on it....

 

going back to 100 mile round trip a day in december when i move back east the money is WELL worth it though so i can't complain

 

i have a 25 mile round trip to school and back, but i barely take my car. the hatchback only comes out on a friday and saturday night for 50 miles per night....tats just crusing the highways at 60mph. car runs smooth and perfect...chassis has 136,000 miles, motor has 35,000

 

i drive 30miles round trip 5 times a week cuz of school. i just swapped out my old, tired vx motor for a jdm d15b. my gas mileage went down a bit, but nuthin really major.

 

6 miles... sucks for gas mileage in the Tahoe. Thankfully, in the times of high gas prices, the company pays for gas.
