Default What's up guys?

So I have decided to hold onto me EF (88 crx si w/ LS Swap).....I am wanting to rebuild the motor that is in the car now. I did a compression test on it the other day, and needless to say I wanted to cry haha. What would you guys reccomend for a mild turbo set-up? I want to rebuild the motor with quality parts, but I am not working with a unlimited budget. I want to just use a block guard, or maybe even just post the block.....Anyway, as far as rebuild kits go, what do ya'll reccomend? I want to make around 250ish whp when all is said and done....thanks alot guys.

250 HP? LS/Vtech should get you close. I thought that combo would put out 200-220 or so? Why bother with $$$turbo$$$ if you already are that close to your goal? Just settle for a Vtech head, some CTR or ITR pistons, and maybe a cam. Thats my opinion. I know turbos are uber cool but NA would put you soo close to your goal.

no h in vtec

250 off a stock LS in good shape isn't a problem.

Now we understand you are aiming for mild and low cost, I would say look at some T3s and read up on setups making what you want. You can really learn alot and figure what would work better.

It's kinda hard, to work with just a # to get you your goals, I can think of 10 setups or more off the top of my head that will get you 250WHP. Where you want it to come on and how your curve looks.

Honestly if 250 is your goal stock parts will work, I'd say read up and re think if you still aim for just 250 that is fine, we can help you craft a setup of any kind

You dont think that he could be close to his goal on a NA LS/Vtec? I know that a turbo setup with his LS would make well over his goal for sure. But I was offering a different angle. Some people just think power=turbo

250 will require a nasty setup mines probbly under 200 by a hair

It's doable, and you can keep it partical and or semi sane.

I'm starting to fall into the turbo camp.... I rode in my buddies car today just a t3/t4 y8 6th gen... nearly as fast as my LS1 . When i'm done school, i'm getting a deck plated LSX 512 small block and 2 T88s. Should be good for 1500 ish

Go to the all motor section look at some of the 250WHP + setups, most are pretty high dollar and custom work needed.

The all motor guys are great to read from

For my dream motor build thats only if I can keep that quiet from my lady

A health LS can easily handle that power put some new rings and bearings in the bottom and it will last...

My turbo set-up made for arounds 250-300 hp range and all i plan to do to get more power is to swap on a bigger compressor housing on my turbo and put some bigger injectors in

Once you boost you'll just want to keep turning it up, I'm only on 7psi currently with a basemap and I can't wait to get the tune done and bump it up to 14psi

Thanks for the input. I don't beleive in LS/Vtec, unless you have bottomless pockets. My friend has been thru 3 of them, and The only person I would trust to build one for me lives in alasaka. I have only had one turbo car, but have driven many. I ordered a gasket set,arp studs, arp rod bolts, new acl race bearings, and total seal rings. Would you guys reccomend a factory honda head gasket, or cometic, hks, something along those lines? Thanks alot for all the input. I am basically aiming at a high 12 sec daily driven crx. I don't think thats too unrealistic with 250whp, and a good driver

I'd go with a OEM Honda HG I think they work fine...250whp should put you into the 12s but there are other factors a good suspension and tries will help that too...
