gsr head need help
i just purchased my first gs-r head at get this, the local junkyard! i took apart the head and it looked clean from a quick look while at the junkyard. the car was in a wreck, the block had a crack so we left it but the head looked to be pretty clean, so i snagged it. but now i need to kno how would i go about checkin to see if the valves are good or bent? my buddy took the dizzy cuz he said he would let me snag the head. here are pics that i took after gettin it home. any help would be greatly appreciated...

any one kno any good sites that give info on how to check n see if the head is good or not?

Nice score! Take it to a machine shop. They will tell you if its worth anything . You will want to get it machined and cleaned anyway. Without taking it apart Im not sure if you can tell, other than speculation, if its good or not.

Like everyone said take it to a machine shop and get it checked. The will check the spring height, spring tenstion, valve seats, valve guides, deck for streightness etc. I am in the DC area and the machine shop I go to is resonable. To tear down a head and inspect it is $70.00 and to do a valve job is like $300 bucks. When/ if you get the head redone you will want to install new valve seals as well.
As far as checking for streight valves alot of times they remove the valves and roll the stem on a flat service ( thats what we do at school) or if its bent real bad you should be able to see ( with the valve out of the head). 99% of the time honda valve guides dont need replacing. For a few hundred bucks you could have a real nice head.
