Why do P29 Pistons make for higher CR in a d16a6 when they have the dame bore/stroke...
I am confused as to why people put p29 pistons out of a d16a3 into d16a6's to boost their cr. Both engines have the same bore and stroke--75x90. Is the d16a6 head shorter?
It's soley to do with the dome or dish of the piston
Edit - not a d series guy, so the heads may have different combustion chamber volumes as well.

It could also be due to the placement of the pin in the piston.
If you had two different pistons, both with flat top's, the placement (height) of the pin could make a difference.

Ah, this makes sense. Thanks.

And the P29 dome is much bigger than the PM3 (?) dome.
Here are mine.

BTW, this engine is for sale.
