Default Header Cover?

Hey guys i was wondering if there is anything i can use to make or fab a heatshield cover for my 4-2-1 headers??? somewhat like the type r heat shield...the cops have really been gettin on us over here with random inspection points and whatnot and just kinda wanna keep it covered up...i really dont care what its made of cuz im open to basically anything..ghetto or not lol...so yea any backyard DIY ideas anybody??? thanks

umm since u got headers im thinking u also got an intake..so um ur pretty fukked in the 1st place..

lol i think he doesnt have an carb legal header or he wouldnt even cover his headers in the 1st place.

Heh yea you goys are right...no Carb..but dont got the funds for new headers...and as for intake ive got my cold air pipe wrapped with stock black intake pipe cut to fit and the stock box cut on the bottom to cover where it drops down...cant tell at all...hahaha

JUST GO TO A LOCAL JUNKYARD AND SEEE IF YOU CAN GET A FITMENT FOR YOUR HEADERS

i made one of a chuck of aluminum. looked a little ghetto, but only spent an hour on it and free materials.

old car, sorry its cell phone quality (brings back old memories.. *cries*)




cut, bend at key sections, drill holes where necessary/cut to fit

cool shield but something like that and the cops will know for sure u got something under there.

I suggest to the OP to look into the JDM ITR header. U can use the OEM heatshield, and no one will notice anything. That's what I have, most of my buddies think its stock and keep telling me, "when u going to get some headers??"

Remember guy's its header.. You could make a heat shield and paint it hi- temp flat black?

Haha that would just blind the cop with reflection so he would just be like, ahh it looks fine to me.

I don't know a lot about CA emissions laws but can you use something like header wrap to cover the header. Or would they make you pull it off to see the carb number#

No CARB number, no go - unless it's a stock manifold. It's painfully obvious that a wrapped header isn't stock. Especially with the number of stickers this kid has on his car, and his 88dB exhaust . . .
