EG Constant Power Wire
I recently bought a 92 EG hatch. And of corse, some shmuck put an aftermarket TAPE!!!!! player in the car. I know back in 92' they prolly didn't have the harness adapter for putting in a newer stereo, so I think everyone and there brother must have cut the wires and either used butt connectors or those stupid twist things to wire in the the new stereo. But anyways, that's what was done to this one. I went to a junk yard and cut out a factory harness and soldered it to the wires. This way it was somewhat back to stock. I'm positve I connected all the correct wires because all of them matched.
Now I know the white wire with the blue stripe is your constant power wire. When using a test light on this wire I get nothing. Also because the same wire runs to my clock, every time I turn the car off and turn is back on the clock resets itself. All the fuses are in tact and present. My radio will not get power. The tape deck that I took out of the car worked fine. Could I have shorted something out when removing the tape deck? Please I need some help with one, any help would be great. Thanks!!!

I read what you said, but triple check the wire colors and make sure there are not two alike, it is also possible that the car you got it from is not exactly the same unless of course it was the exact same car YMM.
Test the new connector with your test light and see which wire is battery power, you must have a mistake, if it worked before and does not now then its your fault, but you knew that.

I tested all my connections. There are only 3 wires on the EG that get power in the radio harness. One is for the ignition, I believe it is a red wire with a black stripe. The second is for your lights, I might be wrong on this one but I think it is yellow with a white stripe. And the third is the constant power wire, white with a blue stripe. Now the harness that I cut out of the car at the junk yard was an EG hatch. I don't know what year or model. I'm positive it was not an Si. And didn't all of the EG hatchbacks only have two speakers in them anyways? So what other wires could I mix up?
did u check the fuses under the hood ? i had one of my fuses under the hood go wich caused my radio and clock to not work also pick your self up a multimeter from radioshack or some place so u can watch exactly how much voltage is going in each wire instead of a test light that only ligts up when theres enough power for it
good luck
