putting rear suspension my my friends 93 coupe today..rears were frozen, used a torch but still no luck...

so now we neeed to buy the new LCA assemblys? or is their any soulution?

Those things are a pain in the ***. I knocked my car down from the jack stands trying to get them off. Pissed me off like a mother. I finished it by getting a socket on it and attaching a hollow pipe about 3 feet long. You could also try using a breaker bar.

 

You can easily remove the heads of the bolts behaving this way.

How do I know? Just ask the machinist who had to drill out the remainder of the bolt out of my rear suspension to get the shock off.

There is no "best" solution for this problem. If they are rusted into the bushing you will HAVE to sacrifice something to get them out. Choose what you want to screw up and get to it.

Look at the nice factory splash guard that does nothing to protect the shock bolt.

 

The bolt is frozen to the metal sleeve that runs through the bushing in the LCA. Getting the control arm off is the easy part. You can cut the bolt on between the shock and the control arm, both sides, and then drop the control arm out. Now you have to have the bushing pressed out of the control arm. The shop that pressed mine out said it was a b*tch and half, even with their hydraulic press. Replace, preferably with a poly piece so you don't also have to have the new one pressed in.

When you reinstall that bolt, BATHE IT in anti-seize! Coat it the entire length of the bolt, not just the threads. Even the poly bushings have a metal sleeve that will seize to the bolt.

 

This happened on my friends 94 hatch when we were trying to put new suspension on the rear, he ended up just getting some 94-97 LCAs, that fixed the problem

 

This is what i did:
jack the car up'
put on jackstands
take wheels off
unbolt LCA to subframe bolt
unbolt LCA to brake hub bolt
remove nuts from upper shock mount
remover shock/spring and LCA as a whole
grind the head of the bolt off
cut the U braket of the shock on the side that the bolt head is
pull the cut piece off and discard
brake away the old rubber bushing (i turned mine back and forth untill it was free form the metal sleeve the bolt goes through)
pull the LCA from the shock torch/cut all remaining rubber out of the LCA
Cut a slit in the outer metal sleeve with a hacksaw blade ( this relieves the pressure)
tap metal sleeve out
install new poly bushings
bolt the LCA to the subframe'
slide shock/spring assembly in place
screw the nuts onto the upper shock mount
bolt the shock to the LCA
bolt the LCA to the brake hub
go back and torque all bolt/nut to spec
YOu're done
