Does the prelude H22a shift lever assembly have shorter throws than the 90-93 Accord shift lever ass
Is the shift lever assembly compatible with a 90-93 Accord when doing the H22a swap? Is it true that the prelude shift lever assembly has shorter throws than that of the 90-93 Accord?
Can anyone shed some light into this?
Thanks,
Mark

What exactly doesn't work? I thought that if the accord shifter lever assembly works with the H22a tranny, then maybe the prelude one would work with the accord. Are there fitment problems?

****, if they're all the same on the tranny end (and they are) I don't see how they can be incompatible on the shifter end? Eh probably different cable lengths and shifter positions.
hmm... I know the h22 (or any 4th gen prelude trim) shift lever works w/ a 5th gen accord. A number of guys at HS.com have it. As far as a 4th gen, Idunno but find out if the shift lever/cables are the same between the 4th/5th gen accords.

It does work there are a few people on HS.com that have done it. You need to modify it a bracket a tiny bit. The shifter is about 1 inch shorter, but doesn't seem to shorten the shift.
it will not shorten the shift, just get the c's shifter
The closer you can move the point where the cables attach to the lever to where your hand grabs the shifter, the shorter the throw will be, but the more force will be required to move it into gear.
So since the lever itself is shorter, the distance from your hand to where the cables attach is shorter w/ the prelude lever.
it shortens the distance your hand has to travel, but doesn't really shorten the shifts....which is really good actually...less harsh on the synchro's and a shorter throw...
