custom exhaust, perfectly straight
i plan on redoing my exhaust. i want to use a turbo-style box muffler placed where the resonator would go and then running a tailpipe straight back between the LCAs and using a slight turn down so it will clear the bumper. are there any problems with this set up i havent thought of?

Yeah. Ground clearance. Melting stuff.

RSR makes a catback exhaust system called the ExMag GT2. It is fairly straight and dosen't take the bends of a traditional exhaust system for a Honda. Infact it's pretty much just a straight pipe under the car with a muffler stuck on the end of it. It hangs fairly low as well. You might use google to see if you can find some pics of it and see how it's mounted under the car to get some ideas on where to run and mount your piping. Hope this helps.

It's been done numerous times but I've only seen custom setups. It suppose it could melt the undercoating and some debate that it shouldn't be ran under a gas tank.
No matter what though, your clearance will suck and you will be back here in the fab section looking for someone to weld it back up. That is, after you have a run in with a object on the road or speed bump.

i was already planning for a custom set up and im not really worried about clearance issues. the areas i would have a clearance problem is between the front and back wheels and anything sticking out too far in the back like my muffler does now. i have seen cars with the exhaust about an inch off the ground between the lcas and have no problem. i mean yea if i were to drive over a huge rock it would tear it up, but other than that
If it were me, I would only do this to a non-daily driven car. I think it's a good idea because I like mods that are out of the ordinary, but it's not very practical if this is your only vehicle.
