Default Help with D serie Tranny wap

Did the search, and i've taken mine off before, but what size/type of punch do you need for the b*tch pin on the shift linkage. i always took it off down by the shifter, but they cut it on the one i bought. THanks alot

8mm non tapered pin punch its like 5 bucks or less at a hardware store thats what i just used when i replaced my tranny worked fine

some place made a c clamp like thing kinda like a ball joint remover/installer but the pin punch is cheaper and works fine

BFH+right size anything (ie Bolt, punch, whatever)+a little lubricant=not so bitch pin afterall

thanks guys, Sears was close and AAP failed again, but found a good screw and got it out, in (with the shift linkage upside down), out, and back in again. Human ingenuity wins, but yes it is still the bitch pin

i made one buy taking a long punch like 12" and grinding the end taper so that i can take it out from the top with a hammer no hassle at all comes right out

I have a long ~24" 1/4 extension that pops that bitch right out from the top.
