my friend has a 99 civic si with intake, greddy sp1 cat back, nology wires, denso plugs ans some other stuff. the car was running fine and now it just wants to idel at 2-300 rpm and almost shuts itself off. we cheched the plugs and all the grounds. we even tried resetting the ecu. the car isnt throwing any cels and we cleaned the idel screw etc. if you can help i would appericate it thanks

The only thing i could think of is maybe a dirty fuel filter or a bad fuel pump or something to do with the timing...you said you cleaned the idle screw so its not that. I would check a few of those things and if you cant find the problem i sugest you take it to a certified honda shop and have them take a look at it. good luck man

 

mine is doing the same thing... I changed the fuel filter & air filter. I think it could be the ignition components like the plugs, cap & rotor, and wires.

 

we replaced the fuel filter and checked the pumo and everything is good car still has low idel tho
