Hey guys,
I just pickup a Stock 99 CIvic Si and the car was checked out before buying. The car drives kinda sluggish. I dont know if its just me not used to it. i used to drive a 90 integra with alittle mods done. i plan to get the fuel filter change / spark plugs / wires. You guys have ideas or am i just not used to the car yet?

Sparks.. I don't think you need wires or fuel filter.. check out your airfiler.. and of course always an oil change

I don't know how 'sluggish' you are talking about, But Si's are not exactly 'fast' in their stock form.

I geuss I can add to that, ^^ that's true, and the Si ways more then most models..., sunroof, abs, power everything.. little heavier engine/tranny

but I would take one anyday

The biggest forgotten thing that will actually make the car feel sluggish to the person that would actually notice is the pcv valve system. If your system is unplugged at the rear of the engine under the intake manifold, it is not really releasing block pressure the right way, and make the car feel sluggish. I would replace the pcv valve, make sure it's plugged in right after the tube in the canister, and check your spark plugs as well. Make sure the gap is right and that they are actually the right plugs. I have seen people use the wrong plugs for 4-5 years without knowing any better.

tune-up like said above would help you out...sluggish feelings probably mean the car is running rich maybe...u should do the fuel injection cleaning and maybe seafoam...that helps a lot!

thanks alot for the tips...going to get that done right away... get a new Air Intake and exhaust system...take this stock stuff off...time to own the roads...

Seafoam, and tune up. Clean your filter, or change it out.

And remember, Si's, aren't that fast.

why does everyone think this seafoam is a miracle product... unless your engine has more then 150,000 km's i couldn't see a point in using it

It's been a fad on HT much longer than you have been registered. Same for me too.
