Default troubleshooting - my bucking car

just wondering if anyone has seen or heard this problem before.
when driving, if i let my foot off the gas, and gently put it back on, like when coasting in slow traffic, etc, the car bucks, or stutters. feels like someone popping the clutch, even though im not. its annoying b/c you sit there bucking for no reason, just trying to maintain speed. its most noticeable in 1st-3rd gears, but you can tell its there through all gears. driving in traffic in 1st is a joke now. ppl look at me like im an idiot, with my car bucking just from letting off the gas and back on.

thought it could be the TB sticking, but i just cleaned it, or maybe the drive belt or one of the pulleys (alt, ps, water pump, auto tensioner) is starting to fail? there is some whine from the belt when the car is in neutral, so maybe there too much pressure on it?
really cant tell.

any ideas?
thx all

ya, i know that feeling, like the clutch not engaging at low rpm, this isnt it.
its actually worse, like a freekin rodeo, around 3-4k.

sounds like your timing is slightly off, you should check that just to be sure. good luck

it is part of driving a manual. all manual cars do that . of course, if you are more gentle with the pedals you can reduce it significantly

That's true but he is saying that his rpms are at 3-4k that's pretty high for engaging the clutch don't you think? it might be your timing man it sounds like something is off and the engine is hesitating

ya its obviously not a 'manual car' thing. im not shifting when this happens, just lifting off throttle as if slowing down in traffic.

how do you check timing on the k20? no dist...

oh i think i know what your talking about, i think it might be the fact that your engine is moving back and forth. i sometimes feel that too around the same rpms and its a bit worse the higher you go. since the stock mounts are soft and rubber its easy for the motor to go twards the firewall when accelerating, and as soon as you let off, the motor lunges forwards therefore rocking your car back and forth.
its the enertia of the motor moving back and forth thats causing that to happen
