Shaking problem
First off, nice site, learned alot just browsing around. I've been in computers for ages and now I'm wanting to learn more about cars - boy, I have alot to learn...
A few months ago I bought my first Prelude, a 1990 2.0 Si Automatic, and its for the most part been running great after getting a few minor things fixed on it (Water pump, new tires, timing belt) but ever since i've had it, inbetween usually 35-45 MPH if I have the gas pedal sort of inbetween the point where you're not accelerating and you're not losing speed either, sometimes the engine will sort of "shake" until either you give it more gas or let off the pedal. Feels almost like it's inbetween a gear or something. It doesn't do it all the time, just randomly. It also doesn't seem to affect anything else when it happens. I'm hoping someone else has had the same thing happen to them so I can do something about it!
Here she is, by the way: http://www.jacksongamingleague...e.jpg

Somebody shoot me if im wrong, but it sounds like the rev's are dropping to low without the auto box shifting down a gear and putting the engine under stress causing it to shake, same as you would get on a manual. unfortunatly i dont know how to rectify the prob.
That sounds like it might be it, or at least what it feels like. The car does tend to drop the RPMs pretty quick when you let off the gas and the car seems to almost be putting on the brakes- could be part of the problem. Then again, I really don't have a clue what I'm talking about
Have you changed your tranny fluid? It might be too dirty and it might be hanging your valves? You could also be loosing pressure too quickly when decelaration starts to happen which can be a set of other diff problems...
