Tranny help!!!
well i was driving around today taking care of some bills and when i pulled into my driveway and put the car in nuetral. i hear this loud noise coming from the tranny almost like something is spinning and hitting. any ideas of to what it could be?? i was thinking throw out bearing but im not sure any suggestions and insight would be greatly appreciated. mind you i dont run my car hard at all and always stay within the speed limit. ive had enough speeding tickets already. oh and my setup is a 92 vx with a 99 b18c1.
:EDIT: when i put it in gear the noise goes away

If the clutch is out and you still have the noise in neutral then my first guess is going to be the input shaft bearing. Try pushing the clutch in to see if the noise goes away. If it does then it is a slam dunk problem is in the trans
Change the fluid out in the trans put in a good mtf and see what happens. In order to change the isb you have to take the trans out and take it comp apart. It should run for awhile better start saving $$ for a rebuild or replacement
from PM convo, figured I'd paste this into hear for search purposes.

when you are parked, engine is running, shifter is in neutral, and the clutch pedal is not pressed. the mainshaft on the transmission is spinning, throwout bearing is doing nothing. If you hear the noise then, then it's something in the trans or the engine.
whenever you do press the clutch, it takes a few seconds for the trans to stop spinning. trans in neutral, engine running, clutch to the floor, if you continue to hear the noise, it's the throwout bearing or pilot bearing.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Input Shaft Bearing Definitely. I just had the same problem and the whole trann yalmost **** on me. The part is about $26-$35 bucks from Honda depending on where you live. Or you could just swap out the tranny. You can get another Hydro tranny for cheap.
There is a write up in the FAQ on how to change out the ISB. Definitely get a Helms. :thumb
