My 97 civic dx has pretty extreme body damage to the right rear side body panel (starts behind the passenger door, goes all the way back to the trunk/rear quarter panel ) Body filler and lots of sanding? or Buy new pannel? Suggestions?

post a pic, if its as depp as im inagining, pull it out the best you can and THEN when its just wavy metal, tap it flatter with a body hammer and then bondo it

yeah we need a pic to determine what to do. if it's as bad as it sounds you'll need a new quarter panel. quarter panels are easy to do if you have some experience. replacing it would be a better repair, you'll only have mud on your seems instead of the whole quarter.

 

when you note that it is "severe" then I am going to assume you need new panels, without seeing a picture, or seeing the car for myself. And the frame may need work too.
