half shaft???
has this ever happen to anyone? one day i am driving down the street when all of the sudden my car feels like it is not in gear. i pull over to see whats wrong and when i put it in 1st gear its not going anywhere. it feels like it is in nuetral. i try every gear but i does the same thing. earlier that week my clutch had been slipping so i thought my clutch went out. a friend of mine looked at it and said that my half shaft is bad. he also said because my car is so low that it causes my half shaft to break easier. what i didnt understand was what does this have to do with my car not driving. i have boken one before and my car just shook like my tire was about to fall off. can someone explain this to me so that i understand and is there any kind of half shaft out there that is made for lowered cars like mine.

Are you referring to the center driveshaft (between the driver side CV axle and the tranny/differential), or are you talking about one of the actual CV axles? Integras have equal length axles, plus the center shaft for the left axle (sometimes referred to as halfshaft). I don't think it would be possible to break the center shaft, as it's just a solid bar w/ one end inside a large bearing, and the bearing bolts to the engine block w/ 3 big bolts. The CV axles can break at the CV joints (inside the rubber boots), is this what happened on yours?
