LS engine is throwing code 43? Help!
I am probably going to buy my friends CRX but the only thing is that after you drive for a long period of time (like 3 hours or so) the engine light comes on. The car has a 1990 LS engine in it. I am wondering what the code is and how I can fix it. Thanks.
Code 43??...OBD0 ecu codes only go up to 20 on non-vtec engines. The OBD0 Vtec ecu's have more codes that correspond to Vtec but they still only have the 20 main codes. You might want to check the code again...and what ecu are you using?
code 43 is fuel supply......my friends built ls does that too......check your pump.....
both my 92 CX w/SOHC vtec and now my 89 DX w/92 LS threw the sode 43 at me. After like 2.5-3 hours of drivig, I changed the fuel filter on my 92 and it didnt go away and i thought f**k it I have no problems with the way the car is running so I didnt worry about it. I also dont have any extra $ to spare to fix things like this right now it runs good enough for me. I wouldn't worry about it. But that is my opinon.

Yeah I'm thinking it could be the fuel filter or something considering he never changed when he put the engine in the car. I also noticed that some times when you put the pedal down that it will lag for like half a second and then accelerate.

Don't worry about it. For some reason the 88/89's do it I think. The code 43 doesn't really mean anything. It used to pop-up every once in a while on my HF, before I started using the Zdyne. I changed out my fuel filter too, didn't help. It never gave me any trouble so just ignore it.

I agree with Speed on this one. Just reset your ECU and it will go away and then come back some other time.
You can try changing the O2 sensor also. I would get that code when I ran too much fuel pressure constantly, ie freeway driving. You will be fine.

I got this code after my B20 install. The engine was running too lean. The installation of a B&M coorrected this problem and gave me a few HP to boot.
