I purchased a 96 GSR back in July. Already dumped a couple of grand into it to try to fix things (brake master, clutch master, oil pan gasket, compressor, etc.) After a month or so I got a CEL cylinder misfire 1 and 2. I replaced the plugs and wires (Denso Iridium, OEM Wires) thinking that might fix my problem. To my surprise no it didn't. A reputable shop in my area told me that if it had anything to do with the Distributor it would show up a CEL as well. I heard that OBD-2 is so sensitive that the least little thing will set it off. What could be the problem? HELP

oh yeah i forgot to mention that sometimes it only comes up as cylinder misfire on 2, but never 3 or 4
Did you replace the distributor cap and rotor as well? It is most likely distributor/ignition related as the shop said.

By that I meant that it would throw a Distributor code sorry for the confusion.

check the cap and rotor to see what they look like. Since its just one 2 cylinders maybe only those 2 prongs are worn down.
This may sound weird but I think your problem may be as simple as adjusting your valves. We had a CRV that did this. It came up as a miss fire. The valves were so out of adjustment they were opening late or prematurely, I don’t remember. Anyway it cured the problem. Besides when was the last time you did it??
