Default LSD preference

What is the LSD of choice: Cusco, Quaife, or a JDM for a 4th gen prelude. I have heard mixed emotions on each of the three and i wanted to get a feel for what the ppl here at H-T think.

I'd rather have a BMW than a Rolls-Royce.

Quaife all the way.. 800$ on GBC.com Ordering one today, and its only been about 4 years for me to save up for one..

You can't beat the lifetime garantee, and no need to ever be rebuilt...

its worth the extra 200$ IMO

If you aren't going to make over 350hp, then you should look into the Phantom Grip. All the people I've talked to that actually have one (including myself) are happy with it. (There are, of course, some people who aren't happy I'm sure, I've just never seen any) The only people who complain about it are those who don't own one.

Just my two cents.

Phantom Grip = NAPA

Really? All the bad rumors have been making it kind of hard to consider it. Can you reffer me to other people that have it on a prelude and like it? I know most of the problem cases were because PG had send the wrong model unit. This does not bother me.

THe thing is, however, that people have said it isnt that strong (wrong word to choose), and basically will only *lock* your wheels when your launching on a straight (and the unit does not have enough power to do the LSD functino on cornering, or anything aside from drag race launching).

Whats your opinion? Are these just rumors coming from people with bad feelings towards the product?

ive only heard bad stuff about the phantom grip. it is not an lsd at all, just a small piece that locks the differential somehow. i dont know the technical theory, but supposedly the way it works is harmful to the parts. an lsd is not used for straight line launching, but rather for maintaining traction throughout turns. i suppose if all you care about is getting a better 60' time, then a phantom grip will suffice. i myself would only buy a quiafe.

edit/ jordan basically said what i did
