R18 owners: Do you have a dirty exhaust tip?
Ok...
It seems as though everytime I clean my exhaust tip, it gets black again in just a few days. There's a nice thick layer on there right now. Does this happen to you guys? I hope this is normal. It looks like I'm running super rich. It doesn't look pretty at all
Anyone?

My exhaust tip is pretty black... What type of Octane do you guys use? I know it calls for regular unleaded, but i've put in the middle grade every once in a while. Somebody told me it improves mileage?

I don't believe putting higher octane gas into your vehicle will improve mileage. If that were the case, then everyone would want to use high octane fuel if it offset cost for mileage. In fact, using higher octane might be the cause of your carbon deposits on your exhaust tip.

Hence the "might"
Now that I think about it more, I have a feeling that the carbon deposits on your pipe are a combination of a lot of elements - altitude, humidity, gas, aftermarket/stock intake, how you drive, etc, etc, etc...

So true, I use crappy Arco 87 octane ($2.05 a gallon, I'm broke bee-yatch!), drive in a very dry environment and I don't have that dirty tailpipe problem. I'm guessing it's the "elements" thing. I'm guessing.
