Default Going to pick up speakers tomarrow... need help

I just want to replace my rear speakers here at first with something that can take a bit more bass... Right now I have my bass turned all the way down with the Loud option on my deck on. If I don't have my bass down then it sounds like its just giving my speakers a bit much power and they are goina blow. What brand should I get? I have a 52wx4 sony Xtreme deck. Thanks!

you deck probably only puts 20-25 watts rms, just like all of them. any aftermarket speaker will handle that fine, just take a cd and pick the ones that sound the best to you.

Wait a minute...aren't you getting a sub? Thought I read that in another post....if so, skip the rear speakers all together. Run the components with the sub and that will sound much better!!

Also, your head unit is more like 10 -12W of real power...won't power a set of aftermarket speakers that well either.

cruthfield says all the sony's are 23 aside from one that is 21. but you're right, amp those components.

Amp the fronts, forget the rears and get a sub. Works great! My setup exactly.

I don't care what the manual or sony says...find me a honest 20 x 4 amp that is smaller than the size of a headunit....It doesn't exist nor does a 20 x 4 headuint.

Simply check out the size of a headunit...and now adays the include a tuner, cdplayer, eq, crossover, etc....there is no way that there is room in that sucker for a 23w x 4 amp.

everything for the sub is already ordered and I'm just waiting for the amp to come in. I wanted to work on my stock speakers before I get 2 (good) subs but right now I just have a really crappy one that will give me some kick for now. Thanks guys!

P.S.
An amp for the fronts huh? How much should I get the amp rated at? 50 or 100x4? *or maybe something larger?* Thanks!

probably somewhere in the 50-75x2 rms would be fine, match it up with the speakers you get.
