loss of compression create irratic idel??
Heres the story, i have a z6 motor with 200000 miles and it burns oil like it is its job. I was ******* around and sprayin a 65 shot through the motor for ***** and giggles. I had head lift and my coolent catchcan was close to overflowing. i checked the spark plugs and one of my cylinders the plug is caked in oil.
obviously the #3 cylinder has oil blowin past the rings. this was over the summertime. i stopped sprayin and drove the car for a month normally. Then i noticed im getting a bad idel, around 1200 and it jumps up to 2000 then back down. i replaced the EACV and it dropped the idel to about 800. for a few days now its back up to 1200 and bouncing. not as much as before but still.
could the loss of compression of one of my cylinders create an irratic idel like this? no CEL's. the only thing i can think of is that the fuel injectors are really clogged and their is alot of carbon build up in the head creating this. im not worried about the motor cause im in the process of building another z6. i probablly need this motor to last me until the end of summer time.
any thoughts or ideas to help save the motor for a little while longer???

If you know that the head gasket is blown and you have a loss of compression then why not spend the $60 bucks in parts and change the head gasket. I know you don't care about the motor because you are replacing it . So why worry about the poor idle at all? To answer your ? yes it could cause an idle problem
well the headgasket isnt really blown.. after i stopped sprayin, i blead the coolent system and now its not over flowing. i had to blead the system cause of the EACV when changing it out, i lost alot of coolent cause i ripped one of the lines and had to replace it. i had a little oil in the coolent but it was very little.
the headgasket it about to blow, but not yet there
i was just wondering if the low comp in the cylinder would create the bad idel, or the headgasket would do that? and im not overheating at all.

If you have oil in the coolant the head gasket is blown or you have a crack in the block or the head. You also have 1 plug caked in oil can cause a miss that will lead to rough idle. So yes low compression on one cylinder can lead to poor idle. A fouled spark plug can and so can a bad head gasket causing loss of compression.
