what is the motor diffrence between the rsxand the type -S
i wanna know what is the diffrence between the motors and is it really worth spending a few thousand on the type s when you just could buy some **** less then the cost for the type s and get bout the same horse power??
Type S engine code: K20Z1 (04-06) and K20A2 (01-03)
K20a2 ( RSX-S)
Engine Specs
HP 200 @ 7400RPM
Torque 142 lb/ft @ 6000 RPM
Bore 86mm
Stroke 86mm
Comp Ratio 11:1
Displacement 1998cc
Specific output 100HP/L
K20z1 04,05 RSX-S
Engine Specs
HP 210 @ 7800RPM
Torque 143 lb/ft @ 7000 RPM
Bore 86mm
Stroke 86mm
Comp Ratio 11:1
Displacement 1998cc
Specific output 105HP/L
RSX base model engine code: K20A3
K20a3 ( RSX Base / Civic Si (SiR Canada)
Engine Specs
HP 160 @ 6500RPM
Torque 152 lb/ft @ 5000 RPM
Bore 86mm
Stroke 86mm
Comp Ratio 9.8:1
Displacement 1998cc
Specific output 80HP/L
So about 50 FHP, and the K20A3 has about 10 more lb/ft of torque.
I would go with the type S, simply because of the 50 hp. And bolt on's on the K20A3 will not give you 50 whp.
K20a2 ( RSX-S)
Engine Specs

Torque 142 lb/ft @ 6000 RPM
Bore 86mm
Stroke 86mm

I'm going to go with "SEARCH", believe me it does wonders. Oh and there have been so many threads on this subject it's not even funny.
The major difference (like they said) is the engine, also there is the suspension, interior, stereo, and price.

yeah just search...i know that sometimes you dont get the exact answer you want, but thats why people post threads...
and plus, this is a pretty simple question that can be easily answered...even used cars websites (like cars.com and vehix.com) can answer...

The Type-S stereo is different enough that, if you have an iPod or some other portable player, you will not be able to find an adapter that'll allow an extra audio input into the stock stereo. If you want to play an iPod in your Type-S, you'll have to go aftermarket.

i kno thesse threads are up every day but i wanted to know like numbers and spefics i mean i really dont have allot of time to find any thing but so if i was to change the commpression ratio to 11:1 on the non type s i would be able to get type s horsepower

Sure, and get the stronger rods, balanced crank, and the entire cylinder head, plus either the Type-S ECU or KPro. Should get the correct oil pump while you're at it.
A lot of the extra power comes from the higher revs (and all supporting mods) -- the torque figures are pretty much the same.
It's entirely possible to build the base A3 motor for a bunch of power, but that gets expensive, and it can't really be called a "base" motor anyway.
